FRAGMENTS EP
12 Inch
12.10.07
after the hypnotic ethereal sound of stream of consciousness and the rootsy down home feeling of the nakusanga ep, an underground buzz began about what would come next from the bu mako label. the fragments ep establishes jenifa mayanja as a serious artist unafraid of pushing boundaries, branching into the unexpected, quietly seducing the listener without beating down the senses into submission. while jenifa mayanja makes no declaration as to what genre she may be classified into, the music has no problem resting comfortably between deep house, future jazz, downtempo, detroit tech and electronica.

TOUCHED THE SKY ( JOE CLAUSELL RMX )
12 Inch
11.10.07
one of ibizas top summer of 2007 songs, revered dennis ferrers >touched the sky< is served up three different ways here. managing to make its gospel house chorus sound almost scary yet distinctly house, joe claussells remixes defiantly add something new to this song. multi-layered and complex, the song rewards listeners with finding something new about the track every time its spun on the dance floor. and the deep, diva style vocals from mia tuttavilla are warped in >joes dub beats< into static-y notes that fit perfectly inside the hidden pockets of this remix. this is perfect music for after-hours. and in the same vein, >yass dubstrumental< adds another layer of something fresh andstraight out of left field on this massive hit from ferrer

WHATS IN A NUMBER EP

played by: martinez, 2000 and one, tadeo, stare5, jeff samuel, karotte, matt star, x-pansul. cray1labworks have arrived to their tenth release. to celebrate, they have chosen none other than the copenhagen based theodor zox. thick, liquid bases spread over theodor zoxs >whats in a number<. the blips and crackles playfully dance around the base line while the main melody slowly comes into shape, creating a delicious danceable song strolling between minimal and sweet old school techno touches, following the path that cray1labworks have always laid. the volatile sound of >whats in a number< is overshadowed by the strong, mysterious, seductive synths of the minimal tech >feed me lies<. a song thatll make the ladies sway their hips on the dancefloor

right after the slowenian takeover with umeks last offering, huntemann graces his confused label alongside his production partner andre walter. crs on the aside is a very hypnotic and stripped down journey thru time and space with killer arpeggios, impressive sound-spheres and a very basic and irresistible rhythm. drp on the flipside is a bit deeper with house trenched drums, a monstrous bass-sound preaching evil to all mankind and tight synthesizer stabs.

09.10.07
after several works on sound division, southern fried and remixes for some of the most popular producers worldwide such as david guetta, bob sinclair or erick morillo he presents his first ep on our own imprint with this massive 4 happy people ep. his original mix is all about bass. distorted, mean and loud and actually a pleasure to use for kicking serious ass. the tea mix is more driving and fluently building up with steady percussions and filterings on the bassline while the alex delia remix focusses on minimal aspects and fragments perfectly twisting the tune for the likes of any underground set
lush 7 follow! constructed around a strutting bassline the claps, castanets, rise & cymbal lines interact to great effect. like a fine wine, k drive & ginman give the track time to breathe before slowly turning the screw. increasing the tension and expanding the room in a wash of metallic reverb! simplicity is the key as each sound cuts like a warm knife through the butter. reactions are huge on both killer tracks so have it large!

PAN-O-RAMA (2LP)
2x12 Inch
08.10.07
a little less than two and a half years after its conception—and close to 30 singles, one compilation, one mix cd and one sublabel later—berlins mobilee releases its first artist album. naturally, who better to represent the milestone than pan-pot, who so far have delivered five essential singles to mobilee, helping to anchor the ever-shifting sound of one of europes most exciting labels. in just two short years, with 10 singles (for mobilee and einmaleins musik) and lots of remixes, theyve become known far and wide for their distinctive, groovy, and above all ominous sound. pan-o-rama finds the boys stretching that sound in every possible direction: twisting, tearing, and using the shreds to drag a wide swath of techno history into the future (and, just maybe, to drag a few pieces of techno future back into the past). call it minimal if you must, but this aint no clickity-clack shit. you can hear the agonized gurgle of isolationist acid, reminiscent of plastikmans darkest nights. you can hear the percolating urgency of classic bleep techno. tried and true hardware collides with restless digital experimentation as dance musics dna worms its way into twisted new shapes. pan-o-rama is dark, thats for damned sure. eerie vocals that seem to come from within the listeners own head creep across the stereo field. throughout, restrained minor-key melodies conjure 21st century noir, and a relentless low-end rumble seems to suck up all the light around it

X - SLAVES EP
12 Inch
08.10.07
versatile are delighted with this new addition to their catalogue. a release made in belgium by detroit techno prodigy: fabrice lig. as you will notice on this new ep, the first white guys to have signed a record on kevin saundersons legendary label kms, remains faithful to the sound of motor city. a light and esoteric melody sets the tone of >x-slaves who changed the world<. the tight clap and kick drum leave room for the modulating bass. a voice similar to martin luther kings, repeats names of cities in which slavery prevailed, whilst pads stimulate the mental trip. the x slave is taken by the dancefloor, changing the world as he dances to the beat. “funk la termite” is elastic funk. binary rhythms, off-beat chords which keep the groove balanced whilst the hi-hats, like little insects, dig away at the beat, building it and deconstructing it as the sounds evolve. >the round of funky bugs< continues in the vein of creepy crawlies. here, the synths are more upfront, their acidic layering create a mixture of harmonic loops which will set all hells lose. the melodies and use of pads stay anchored in the detroit tradition, but this production fits just as well with all the current electro releases worthy of any good dancefloor

this three track instrumental project features the slick, cutting edge grooves of jive assing, as well as a gorgeous musical painting in the form of manzana de mi vida. showcasing glenn undergrounds signature sound & stylings, jive assing (main mix) is a flawless dancefloor groove, and is essentially a musical journey into the moody mind of cvo. surely to send dancefloor pundits into a frenzy, the dub version boasts a slightly tweaked sonic experience, with thicker percussive layers, a tougher kick and one bad ass bassline as only gu can deliver. the lush manzana de mi vida is a fine lesson in avant garde dance music, featuring some fine work (as usual) on keyboards, creating a melodious & profound atmosphere that will set your soul (and soles) on fire!

zimmermann alias jens zimmermann aka tyrell corp. aka dj gargamel is constantly changing yet always the same: a damn good producer. from his early days when he whipped up tracks by culture beats and out of the ordinary into dancey frenzy with well-known german producer torsten fenslau, to his drum n bass-fuelled moments of technical innovation, jens has never been one to stand still. constantly reinventing hilmself, he always managed to keep things ticking, making him one of the most sought-after producers in the late eighties and throughout the nineties. now, in 2007, after years of noise research and sound sculpting, he is re-emerging as zimmermann which stands for >new german minimal sound<. after three much-celebrated releases, aptly called zimmermann #1, #2 and #3 on room recordings, which were severely hyped up by germany s house fraternity, and releases and remixes on boxersport, k2,and hifreaks as well as on harthouse mannheim, the future is looking bright for jens

more deep chicago house magic from the label that started it all. veterans bernard badie and vocalist extraordinaire dajae teaming up on this three track gem, a bumping deep and moody floor filler with a typically catchy cajual vocal. train is the main cut on this one, featuring a tight tracky beat, some up and down bass and a nice array of warm keys, definitely in line with vintage mark grant/cajmere/glenn underground vibe. now is more of a stomping dub, with a hypnotic vocal cut up over a tough building funk house groove. another winner from the home of the windy city house sound.
